Ar-Ikhet Bekatem is a High Archon of the Exceeds, the Pillar of Ruin. He is one of the three Pillars of the Night, who lead the Exceeds faction.

Personality

Ar-Ikhet firmly believes in the inherent superiority of the Aanuh Ka'ri race due to his understanding of their advanced capabilities and unique origins. Despite this strong conviction towards himself and his people, he maintains a composed demeanor. He lets their achievements and abilities speak for themselves rather than engaging in personal boasting. His leadership style reflects this mindset—often leading through example and careful strategy rather than intimidation. While he can be ruthless when necessary, Ar-Ikhet prefers to win through calculated moves and intellectual superiority. Those who serve under him respect his mind for battle and unwavering dedication to the Exceeds' cause.

Ar-Ikhet maintains respect and cooperation with fellow Aanuh Ka'ri, particularly other members of his faction, addressing them as his “brethren”. He even respects Aanuh Ka'ri with views that do not align with his own, such as Zah’ra and Etet Ranaj. However, he holds a clear disdain for other races. Ar-Ikhet views other races as inherently lesser beings, particularly humans whom he sees as primitive and unworthy of the knowledge they possess. This prejudice extends into a deeply held conviction that other species lack the capacity to truly comprehend and wield the power of the Archives. He is known to occasionally utilize members of other races as pawns in his schemes, though he never truly values or trusts them.

While typically cool and calculated, Ar-Ikhet harbors a deep personal vendetta against Ineq for exposing the Exceeds' plot. This is one of the few subjects that can crack his exterior, causing him to display rare moments of raw emotion and anger.

History

Ar-Ikhet Bekatem was a prominent figure among the Aanuh Ka'ri and a member of the Order of the Archives. He along with several colleagues orchestrated the plot that would precede the Battle For the Archives. As a member of the Exceeds faction, he rose to he and others attempted to seize control of the Neophite Archives. His efforts were unveiled by Ineq. Despite the Exceeds being exiled from Neophis, Ar-Ikhet continued to operate throughout the sector, driven by his belief and desire for vengeance.

His position as one of the three Pillars of the Night was established within the Exceeds hierarchy, where he became known as the Pillar of Ruin.

Abilities

Like all Aanuh Ka'ri, Ar-Ikhet possesses the ability to shift his form, allowing him to adapt to various environments. He can alter his size from as small as a pebble to as large as a small vehicle, though maintaining extreme sizes for extended periods can be taxing. He can also modify his density to accomplish tasks such as passing through small openings or withstanding high pressure.

Additionally, he can manipulate sound waves, which can be used for both communication and defense. With sonic manipulation, he can create barriers, disrupt electronic systems, or even induce temporary paralysis in targets.

However, like other Aanuh Ka'ri, his abilities are significantly limited when away from Neophis's sophisticated maintenance systems. Without access to the specialized containment chambers, he must practice careful management of his form and energy to not reduce his lifespan and capabilities.
