Characteristics

The Kaurirari are a unique amorphous species characterized by their pitch-black skin capable of remarkable adaptability. Their most distinctive feature is their ability to alter their skin's shade, tone, transparency, and texture at will. They possess multiple eyes that can move freely across their skin surface, providing comprehensive visual coverage despite their inherent extreme nearsightedness.

As they age, Kaurirari grow larger but experience decreased mobility and gradual loss of shape-shifting abilities. While biologically immortal, they require care in their elder years to prevent death from immobility or starvation. Their extreme sensitivity to heat has led them to establish settlements in the colder regions of the moon's dark side.

Culture and Society

Kaurirari society operates as a meritocracy with strong emphasis on filial piety. Their culture traditionally centered around ice gathering, with social status determined by one's contribution to the tribe's ice reserves. This system has gradually evolved into a more complex economic structure following contact with humanity.

Family units are largely self-sufficient, historically limiting the need for trade between groups. However, exposure to human civilization has sparked interest in higher learning and language acquisition, leading to rapid cultural development beyond their original tribal structure.
